The Längenfeld Badl dates back to the 16th century. 4 centuries passed until the Aqua Dome was built.
Längenfeld looks back at a long tradition as a spa resort. It was first mentioned in the 16th century and for many years it was used as a spa. In the 70s, the thermal springs ran dry and Längenfeld remained relatively unkown for a while.
This changed in 1986 when the Längenfeld Badl reopend and trial drillings took place. At a depth of 1,865m, hot spa water was found. This was the start of Aqua Dome.
The water which runs down the 3,000m high glaciers and past rocks and then bubbles up from a depth of 1,800m as spa water is unique.
Water Analysis. The spring water was chemically analysed (sample: April 14, 1993). Results show that the spring contains sulphur water (bivalent sulphur, 5mg sulphur per liter) with a temperature of 26.7°C.
According to the Tirolean spa law, this sodium chloride sulphate spa is a mineral spring and it was approved as an official sulphur spa. The produced water has a temperature of 40°C. 3-4 liter per second are unearthed.
