This document is intentionally written in a simplified format and in clear, plain language, thereby complying with the principles and accessibility requirements of Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act).

Pursuant to Article 4 and Annex I of Directive (EU) 2019/882, accessibility information must be provided in a perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust manner – including through clear language and a non-complex structure.

The simplification of this document therefore constitutes the direct fulfilment of a legal obligation and does not replace any further technical or legal documentation where such exists.

This document was provided by AccessiWay to comply with the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Accessibility Act (BaFG).

Conformity with Accessibility Requirements

We have assessed aqua-dome.at against the following frameworks: European Accessibility Act, Accessibility Act (BaFG), EN 301 549, and WCAG 2.2. We ensure compliance with the following principles:

Perceivable

  • Instructions for understanding and operating content do not rely solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, colour, size, visual position, orientation, or sound.
  • Content adapts correctly to screen orientation, with consistent presentation and functionality.
  • Where present, the purpose of input fields accepting specific data is correctly communicated to assistive technologies and implemented in a conformant manner.
  • Content is adaptable so that users can adjust text size individually without the interface losing functionality.
  • Essential components, including in their various states, have a colour contrast with adjacent elements that meets the minimum ratio of 3:1.
  • Changes in text spacing (such as line height, paragraph spacing, letter or word spacing) do not result in loss of information or content.
  • Additional content displayed on hover or focus remains visible and can be dismissed without moving the pointer or focus.

Operable

  • There are no keyboard traps (free navigation into and out of all components is possible).
  • No content-imposed time limits are enforced, or if present, they can be controlled, adjusted, extended, or are justified by functional or legal requirements.
  • No flashing or flickering content is used that could trigger seizures; safety thresholds are adhered to.
  • Screens within the service flow have titles that describe their topic or purpose.
  • On screens that are sequentially navigable and where the navigation order affects meaning and function, focusable elements receive focus in an order that preserves meaning and operability.
  • There are multiple ways to identify content within the environment.
  • All functions can be used without complex gestures.
  • Functions are not activated immediately upon touch; they can be cancelled before execution and do not require holding down to operate.
  • All functions can be used without relying solely on device or user motion.
  • All functions can be used without dragging movements.
  • The clickable area of interactive elements is large enough to ensure easy interaction for users.

Understandable

  • The language of each page is correctly defined and used consistently throughout the service.
  • All relevant text sections can be programmatically identified.
  • User interface components do not trigger unexpected context changes upon receiving keyboard focus that could confuse users.
  • User interface components do not trigger unexpected context changes when activated by users via keyboard or assistive technologies.
  • Existing navigation mechanisms are consistently positioned throughout the service flow.
  • Recurring user interface elements are designed consistently to facilitate recognition.
  • Mechanisms for requesting support or help are consistent throughout the environment.

Robust

  • Standardised development technologies are used that can be interpreted by assistive technologies.

We have tested aqua-dome.at with the most common assistive technologies across various combinations of operating systems and browsers:

  • Screen readers such as NVDA and JAWS (Windows) and VoiceOver (Mac and iOS) help us ensure that all interactive elements are correctly read aloud and operable.
  • We additionally test usage with screen magnification and in high-contrast mode.

Our goal is to be compatible with current versions of common assistive tools. We follow the best practices of WCAG 2.2 and EN 301 549 to ensure that accessibility is maintained as technology evolves.

Standards

On this basis, we apply the criteria of WCAG 2.2 (AA level, current version) as well as EN 301 549. Compliance with these standards serves as evidence of conformity with the EAA, the Accessibility Act (BaFG), and other applicable regulations.

Ongoing Monitoring and Maintenance

Accessibility is not a one-time project for us, but an ongoing process. Here is how we ensure that aqua-dome.at remains permanently accessible:

  • With the support of AccessiWay, we conducted a manual review by external experts on 26/02/2026 to assess our accessibility conformance. We follow a continuous cycle of testing and improvement, and through regular support, we ensure that comprehensive assessments – including manual testing by specialists using assistive technologies – take place at least once a year.
  • We use automated testing tools integrated into our development process to quickly identify common accessibility issues (such as missing alternative texts or form labels). Every code update goes through these checks.
